Super Kids Ministry was founded by
Delores Lane in the early 1970's. It is based at New
Jerusalem Fellowship Church in Prince George, Virginia.
Delores Lane was born as a twin in 1944.
Her twin sister Frances Holland was born with Down
Syndrome and passed away several years ago. Delores
continued her work and devotion to the Super Kids.
Some are now grown, but they are still her "super kids."
Delores Lane has a special way about her
that shows a kind heart and extraordinary empathy with
disabled children and adults. She has unanimous support from
the New Jerusalem Fellowship members for all events that
involve activities for the Super Kids or fundraisers
to support Super Kids.
Delores had A Dream and that was
to build a home for her beloved Super Kids where they would
be loved and cared for when their individual care-givers
could no longer take care of them. Her dream is now on its'
way to becoming a reality.
On January 28, 2012 supporters for a
Super Kids Group Home filled the courtroom in Prince
George Municipal Court as Supervisors heard testimony from
the supporters. They testified about the group's activities
and the need for a home for adults with disabilities when
they no longer have someone to care for them.
The Prince George Board of Supervisors
unanimously approved to grant a special exception permit to
build the Super Kids Group
Home.
Delores Lane will have her original dream
come true. She deserves our gratitude and recognition for
her warm heart and undying devotion to Super Kids Group
Home for people with disabilities. Thank you, Delores,
for having a heart the size of Texas!
